For example, do you know if there’s an existing mathematical model of how light gets emitted? A mathematical model might work because the light that escapes is the result of a known process. A mathematical model might reveal if the time is at all “optical” time, but it could be any time of the night, so naturally, a mathematical model would be “blurred” and there might be white matter in the sky.
